Tarino's typical salary for a Philippines-based medical receptionist is around $1,200 a month. Because health information is sensitive information under the Privacy Act, plan the privacy setup before they start.
- What an NDIS virtual assistant does and what it costsAn NDIS virtual assistant handles a provider's back-office admin: intake, rostering, service agreement drafts, payment request preparation for the myplace provider portal, rejected claim follow-up and worker screening records. Tarino's typical salary for a Philippines-based NDIS admin assistant is around $1,300 a month, with direct support and anything needing a decision kept with your Australian team.
- Hiring offshore developers in the PhilippinesOffshore developers in the Philippines cost about $2,300 a month on Tarino's typical salary, compared with Tarino's typical Australian figure of $145,000 a year plus super. Hire for a defined stack, test with a paid practical task, put IP assignment in writing and keep code access under your own accounts.
- Offshore drafting services for Australian builders and engineersOffshore drafting services let an Australian builder or engineering firm hand CAD drafting, Revit modelling, drawing revisions and estimating take-offs to a Philippines-based team member. Compliance sign-off stays local: in NSW, for example, only a registered design practitioner can make the design compliance declaration for a regulated design.
- Offshore marketing team structure: roles, costs and who to hire firstMost Australian businesses start an offshore marketing team with one marketing assistant (about $1,500 a month on Tarino's typical salary) or one social media manager (about $1,400 a month), managed by someone onshore who owns strategy and approvals. Add specialist roles once the first hire is producing consistently.
- Offshore staffing in Australia: how it works and what it costsOffshore staffing means an Australian business has people overseas, usually in the Philippines, working on its tasks. There are three main models: a managed provider that charges a monthly fee per person (one published rate is A$1,099 a month plus A$1,200 per hire), an employer of record ($387 a month with Tarino EOR), or direct hire with a one-time recruitment fee ($5,000 excl. GST with Tarino).
- Offshore vs nearshore for Australian businessesNearshore means hiring in a country close to your own time zone, and offshore means hiring further away, usually to cut costs. For Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea are the nearest by time zone, but the Philippines, at 2 hours behind Sydney, is close enough to cover a full Australian working day at a much lower salary cost.
- Paralegal salary in Australia vs an offshore paralegalThe median full-time pay for court and legal clerks, the Jobs and Skills Australia group that includes law clerks, is $1,345 a week, about $69,940 a year before 12% super and other on-costs. - Remote staff in the Philippines: hire your own or use a providerRemote staff in the Philippines can work Australian business hours because Manila is only 2 hours behind Sydney (3 during daylight saving) and level with Perth. - Virtual receptionist in Australia: answering service, virtual receptionist service or your own offshore receptionist?A virtual receptionist in Australia usually means one of three things: a pay-per-call answering service (published rates start around $3.89 a call plus GST), a virtual receptionist plan with a monthly call bundle, or your own dedicated offshore receptionist on a salary of around $1,200 a month. Per-call services suit low volumes; a dedicated receptionist usually wins once you pass roughly 300 calls a month or need real admin done between calls.
- What does a virtual assistant do for an Australian small business?A virtual assistant does the repeatable admin that keeps a small business running: inbox and diary management, enquiries and bookings, CRM and data entry, document preparation, invoicing support and follow-ups. They work remotely in your systems, follow your templates and hand anything needing a licence or a judgement call back to you.
- The Australian Data Privacy Compliance Checklist for Businesses Hiring OffshoreAustralian professional services firms operate on trust. Your clients share sensitive financial, legal, and personal information with you, and they expect you to protect it. Hiring an offshore team member doesn't create a new risk. It just means the controls you should already have in place need to be documented and enforced before day one.

- How to Manage Offshore Staff in Australia (A Practical Guide)Most advice on managing offshore staff is written by outsourcing agencies. - AI vs Offshore Hire in 2026: What Australian Businesses Should DoIf you run a growing Australian business in 2026, you have probably asked the same question everyone else is asking: should I automate this with AI, or hire an offshore person to do it? The honest answer is that AI versus offshore hire is the wrong framing. It is not AI versus people. The strongest setups this year are AI plus people. They route the high-volume, rules-based, repeatable work to AI, and keep skilled humans, offshore or in-house, on the work that needs judgement and ownership. Get that split right and you move faster and spend less than businesses stuck arguing about one or the other.
