Sound familiar?
- Your retainers are fixed, but the production work keeps growing.
- Senior people are resizing graphics and pulling reports instead of thinking.
- Monthly client reports go out late, every month.
- You've used white-label teams that marked up every hour, and you couldn't see who did the work.

Agency margins depend on how much production fits inside a retainer. When senior staff resize assets, schedule posts and build reports, strategy and new business suffer, and the margin on each account shrinks. A dedicated offshore hire can run recurring production and reporting while your team owns positioning, priorities and approvals. Scope a realistic role. A content assistant, a social media manager and a paid-media specialist bring different strengths, and one person can’t cover every channel well.
White label marketing support, from brief to report
Production. A marketing assistant prepares social graphics, copy drafts and simple campaign assets in Canva from your brand guidelines and approved briefs. They build email layouts in Mailchimp, Klaviyo or HubSpot, organise audiences and test links before campaigns are approved to send.
Website and SEO. They update pages, format articles, and maintain metadata and internal links to the content plan, using Semrush or your own tools.
Social. A social media manager maintains each client’s content calendar, schedules approved posts in Meta Business Suite, monitors comments and messages, and routes anything sensitive to the account lead.
Paid media. They support campaign set-up, asset checks and reporting in Google Ads and Meta, with budgets and optimisation left to your specialist.
Reporting. They pull channel results into your monthly report template, flag changes and keep campaign naming consistent.
Running the agency. An executive assistant manages the director’s diary and inbox, schedules client meetings, chases approvals and invoices, and keeps projects moving in Asana.
What stays with your strategists
Strategy, client relationships, creative direction, ad budgets and final approval on anything published stay onshore with your team. The offshore hire produces, schedules, reports and follows up. They don’t publish client content or change spend without sign-off, and they pass complaints or sensitive comments straight to the account lead. Tarino doesn’t give legal advice on your client contracts.
How we screen offshore staff for marketing agencies
A portfolio shows what someone made with help. The practical assessment shows what they make from your brief. For marketing roles it could include a short content brief with sample assets, plus a reporting exercise from sample campaign data. It comes third in the process: CV screening and a video screen take a pool of 1,000+ candidates down to about 200, and roughly 100 complete the task. About 50 sit a structured interview, 20 reach finalist review, and you meet the best 3–4. The screening stages are published in full. More than 95% of the people Tarino places are still in the role at 6 months.
Client accounts, platform roles and your logins
Your hire works in your tools under accounts you create. Share client ad accounts and social pages through each platform’s own user roles, not shared passwords. Require multi-factor authentication and remove access when they leave. Client assets and data stay in your accounts, and you remain responsible for client data under the Privacy Act and your client agreements. The offshore staff security checklist covers platform access, MFA and offboarding.
Retainer margin and the monthly markup
A managed team adds a fee for every person, every month. Staff Domain publishes A$1,099 per person per month, about A$13,188 a year, plus A$1,200 per hire (checked October 2026). Three people on that model cost about A$39,564 a year in fees, and that comes straight out of your retainer margin. With Tarino you pay one recruitment fee per hire, nothing monthly, and each hire keeps their full salary because you pay them directly. Model your team in the offshore staff cost calculator, read the 24-month cost comparison of direct hire and a staffing agency, and see how to hire Filipino staff from Australia.
Start with production. It is the most repeatable work in an agency, and the easiest place to measure whether your seniors got their time back.

Marketing agencies: common questions
Should I hire a generalist or a specialist?
A generalist suits repeatable content, scheduling and coordination across a few channels. Hire a specialist when one channel needs deeper skill, such as paid search, marketing automation or technical SEO. If you are not sure, list the tasks that take your seniors the most hours each week and hire for the biggest cluster.
How do you test writing and creative work?
We review relevant experience and set practical work matched to your brief, such as a short content brief with sample assets, or a reporting exercise from sample data. You can judge tone, clarity and portfolio quality before deciding who to hire. Tell us your brand standards and we build them into the task.
Is white label marketing support from a direct hire different from a white-label agency?
Yes. A white-label agency hires the team and bills you for its time, usually with a margin. A direct hire is your own staff member, working in your tools and under your brand, so you see exactly who does the work and what they earn. You pay Tarino one recruitment fee per hire, with nothing monthly.
Can I hire more than one person at once?
Yes. You can hire for several roles in one search, for example two social media managers, or a marketing assistant and an executive assistant. Each placement has its own one-time fee, and multi-hire discounts are available. You pay each hire directly, and each finalist is tested on the work their role will do.
